Unten Port― Just a short walk
The port is just a short walk from the inn. From here, you can take a ferry to Izena Island or Iheya Island. The boat trip across the calm sea feels like an entrance to another world where time flows slowly.

Iheya Island
― The Northernmost Island of Okinawa: “Blue and Prayer” ―
About 80 minutes by ferry from Unten Port in Nakijin Village. Iheya Island, the northernmost island of Okinawa, is surrounded by crystal-clear seas and abundant nature. More than a tourist destination, it’s an island where “life as it is” thrives. White sandy beaches, blue skies, quiet villages—all of it gently soothes the soul. Revered since ancient times as an “Island of the Gods,” sacred sites and places of prayer are scattered throughout. Time spent here feels like an experience where “time stands still.”

Izena Island
― The Birthplace of the Ryukyu King, “Beautiful Island Time” ―
Izena Island is about 55 minutes by ferry from Unten Port. This small island, known as the birthplace of King Shō En who founded the Ryukyu Kingdom, harmonizes history and nature. The entire island is wrapped in gentle hills and beautiful beaches, compact enough to cycle around. Snorkeling in the clear sea and cycling through sugarcane fields are highly recommended.

Jungleia ― 15 minutes by car
A nature theme park surrounded by lush green forests. Enjoy zip lines and forest adventures, popular activities that let you experience nature firsthand.

Nakijin Castle Ruins
The ruins of a Ryukyu castle, now a World Heritage site. From the castle walls stretching across the hilltop, you can take in panoramic views of the East China Sea and the surrounding forests and ocean. During cherry blossom season, a festival is held, making it an ideal spot for a historical stroll where you can feel the harmony between ancient times and nature.

Kouri Bridge / Kouri Island
breathtaking scenic route that will delight any driving enthusiast. Crossing the approximately 1,960-meter-long Kouri Bridge takes you to Kouri Island. Enjoy the pale, crystal-clear sea visible from the bridge, the island’s beach scenery, and strolls around Heart Rock and the observation spots.

Uppama Beach
A long sandy beach in Nakijin Village. It’s a spot where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll listening to the waves, take a dip in the sea, savor beach time, and experience the tranquility of the ocean.

Nagahama Beach
A beach where the natural shoreline remains largely untouched. Its wide sandy beach, sea breeze, and local scenery are its charms, making it perfect for spending quiet beach time away from the crowds.

Oppadake Forest Park / Forest Viewpoint
Nakijin Village Forest Park, located on a hilltop. The view from the observation deck overlooks the village and the sea, making it an ideal spot for forest walks and nature strolls. You can refresh yourself amidst the quiet greenery.

Churaumi Aquarium ― 10 minutes by car
The Churaumi Aquarium, a premier Okinawan tourist attraction, is also easily accessible. The massive tank where whale sharks glide majestically is a breathtaking space you’ll want to experience at least once.
